The primary functions of söp

The core task of söp is the out-of-court settlement of individual disputes between travellers and companies. Our prime concern is to restore and strengthen customer satisfaction.

söp is officially recognised and EU notified

söp is recognised by the German Federal Government as a consumer conciliation body under the Consumer Dispute Settlement Act (VSBG) and has also been notified to the EU (see list of consumer conciliation bodies).

söp provides an independent, neutral service that offers objective assistance for all travellers who have previously unsuccessfully lodged a complaint with their transport or travel company.

In doing so, söp follows a service-oriented and practical approach: travellers often combine different means of transport (such as “rail and fly”) when travelling from A to B, which in the event of a dispute may require an examination of the entire transportation chain with all companies or contractual partners involved. As a consumer, you therefore no longer have to concern yourself with questions of responsibility in such cases. söp is your central point of contact providing you with competent assistance, regardless of what means of transport you have used for your journey.
